Our story
Shri Mahalaxmi Bhakta Mandal, Kolhapur was founded in 1954 with two aims: to serve Mahaprasad to devotees during Ashwin Pournima at the Ambabai Temple, and to provide lodging for pilgrims visiting Kolhapur.
A formal trust committee was constituted in 1958, and the trust is registered under the Trust Act with the Charity Commissioner's office (Reg. No. E/197).

Why we exist
The dharmashala exists to give every devotee — whatever their means — a clean, safe and dignified place to rest close to the Goddess. That is why our tariff is published openly and our dormitory hall costs only ₹100 per person.
